Crash sends SUV airborne, injuring 80-year-old woman


MILACA—An 80-year-old woman was injured Tuesday, Sept. 11, when the SUV she was driving went off the road and hit a road approach, causing it to go airborne on Highway 169 north of Milaca.

The Minnesota State Patrol reported Camilla Mueller of Albertville was driving a Chevrolet Trax south on Highway 169, when it went off the road south of 200th Street. When the SUV landed, it crossed both southbound lanes, and ended up in the median facing southbound.

Mueller was transported to Fairview Northland Medical Center in Princeton with non-life-threatening injuries. The state patrol reported the airbag didn't deploy during the crash and Mueller was wearing her seat belt.

The crash was reported at 4:22 p.m.

The Mille Lacs County Sheriff's Office, Milaca Fire and North Memorial Ambulance assisted the state patrol at the scene.
