A woman went airborne in her vehicle after she fell asleep, ran off of a roadway and struck a road approach, according to the Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office.

Sarah Marie Mader, 42, of Marine on St. Croix, was westbound on Wise Road before she dozed off, she said, according to a news release by the sheriff’s office.

The vehicle went airborne for about 80 feet after hitting the road approach before landing and coming to a stop near some trees.

Mader was transported to the emergency room at Essentia Health-St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Brainerd.
