OUTING -- A 74-year-old woman was injured Tuesday, Aug. 13, after falling asleep while driving on Highway 6 and Fehrs Drive in Crooked Lake Township, north of Outing.

The Minnesota State Patrol reported Lili T. Engels of St. Cloud was driving a Subaru Outback north on Highway 6, when she fell asleep and drifted off the road, hitting a tree. Engels was transported to Cuyuna Regional Medical Center in Crosby for non-life-threatening injuries. Engels’ 11-year-old passenger, Oliver J. Engels of St. Cloud, had no apparent injuries.

The Cass County Sheriff’s Office, Remer Ambulance, First Responders and the DNR assisted the state patrol at the crash reported at 4:36 p.m.
