STAPLES-Two people on a 1999 Honda Goldwing Trike were injured Friday, June 7, when the motorcycle crashed on Wadena County Highway 30, in Thomastown Township, northwest of Staples.

The Wadena County Sheriff's Office responded to the motorcycle crash at 6:43 p.m. Upon arrival, responders learned the operator Dennis Trana, 57, Staples, hit a deer, overturned the Honda, and came to rest in the west ditch of the county highway. Trana and his passenger, Ramona Trana, 56, Staples, were thrown from the motorcycle. They were both transported to Lakewood Health System in Staples with non-life-threatening injuries. The Tranas were not wearing helmets, the sheriff's office reported.

The Cass County Sheriff's Office, Staples police and fire departments, Staples Ambulance, North Memorial Air Care and Scott's Towing assisted the sheriff's office.
