NOKAY LAKE TOWNSHIP -- The 91-year-old driver of a 2013 Chrysler 300 attempted a U-turn and collided with a 2014 Ford Fusion the early afternoon of Friday, Sept. 20.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the Chrysler operated by Joseph Paul Dubbels of Cushing was traveling eastbound on Highway 18 when it missed its left turn. The 300 was pulled over to the shoulder of the road, whereupon a U-turn was attempted at roughly 12:50 p.m. and it came into the path of the Fusion operated by Joyce Elaine Jorgenson, 88, of Baxter, and her passenger, Edward Michael Lohman, 81, of Yuma, Ariz.

Jorgenson and Lohman were transported to Essentia Health-St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Brainerd to be treated for non-life threatening injuries. Dubbels was unharmed in the crash.

Morrison County deputies and North Memorial Ambulance assisted at the scene.
