GRASSTON -- An Isanti man suffered life-threatening injuries after a two-vehicle crash Monday, Nov. 11, in Royalton Township.

Joe Michel Tomczak, 34, was airlifted to Hennepin County Medical Center after his 1995 Lincoln Town Car collided with a 1990 Ford pickup, driven by 21-year-old Austin Charles Rasmussen of Braham, at 3:11 p.m. Monday, on Highway 107 near Grasston.

The Minnesota State Patrol reported Rasmussen’s truck was southbound on Highway 107 when it collided with Tomczak’s Lincoln at the intersection of Pokegama Lake Road.

Neither Rasmussen nor his passenger, 18-year-old Duke George Nyquist of Isanti, were injured. All those involved were wearing seat belts, according to the state patrol, and roads were dry.

The Kanabec County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene.
