SEBEKA — A single-vehicle rollover Friday, Nov. 20, north of Sebeka sent a passenger to the hospital with serious injuries and the driver was arrested after displaying signs of intoxication.
The Wadena County Sheriff’s Office responded to the personal injury crash at 8:34 p.m. near the intersection of 318th Street and 149th Avenue in Red Eye Township. Law enforcement and emergency personnel arrived on scene to find a 1991 Ford F-250 on its side in the roadway. The truck struck a tree and came to a rest in the roadway. Emergency personnel tended to a passenger, a 25-year-old man, who suffered serious injuries in the crash. The man was transported by Tri-County ambulance to Tri-County Health Care in Wadena and was later transferred to a Fargo, North Dakota, hospital.
The driver, identified as an 18-year-old Sebeka man, had minor injuries and refused medical attention. The man displayed signs of intoxication and was later arrested by law enforcement, the sheriff’s office reported. The man is in the Wadena County Jail and awaiting formal charges to be filed by the Wadena County Attorney’s Office.
Occupants of the truck were not wearing their seat belts and alcohol and speed are suspected to be factors in the crash.
The sheriff’s office was assisted at the scene by Sebeka police and fire departments.
