REMER — A 24-year-old water skier was injured Friday, June 11, after falling into the water, striking his head and losing consciousness on Long Lake in Cass County.
The Cass County Sheriff’s Office was called at 9:15 a.m. to a report of an injured water skier on Long Lake in Inguadona Township, rural Remer. Deputies and responders arrived on scene and learned a Chaska man was being pulled by a boat while water skiing over the wake of the boat. The man lost control and fell into the water, striking his head and losing consciousness, the sheriff’s office reported.
Friends and family got the man from the water into the boat where CPR was initiated and the man was brought to shore. Deputies assisted with CPR and the man regained a pulse. He was transported via helicopter to a Twin Cities hospital.
Assisting at the scene were Longville First Responders, Longville Fire Department, North Memorial Ambulance and Air Care.
