OUTING — A 25-year-old Remer woman was seriously injured when she fell off an all-terrain vehicle and then was run over by it Saturday, June 12, in rural Outing.

The Cass County Sheriff’s Office was called at 6:02 p.m., to the ATV crash with injuries on the Pikus Forest Road in Smoky Hollow Township. Deputies and responders arrived and learned a 2020 Can-AM Maverick ATV was being towed by another ATV when the operator of the machine being towed fell off the ATV and was run over. The woman was treated on scene for serious injuries and transported via helicopter to a Duluth hospital.

Minnesota DNR conservation officers, Remer and Crooked Lake fire departments, Outing Quick Response, Remer Ambulance and North Memorial Air Care assisted the sheriff’s office at the scene.
