The Cuyuna Rock, Gem and Mineral Society will be hosting the 15th annual Agate and Mineral Show from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 6 and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 7 at the Crow Wing County Fairgrounds in Brainerd.

This year the Midwest Federation of Mineralogical and Geological Societies 77th annual convention will be held in conjunction with the show. Delegates from 11 states will be in attendance.

In addition to agates and minerals from around the world, there will be a variety of offerings such as artisan crafted jewelry, polished specimens, semi-precious gems, fossils, petrified wood, hand-crafted decorator pieces, and gifts by more than 50 top vendors. Special displays and demonstrations will be ongoing throughout the show. Watch rock saws in action cuƫting geodes offered for sale by the Cuyuna club. Select a geode and wait while it is cut to reveal a surprise. There will be special activities for youth, a spinning wheel of rock fortune, silent auctions and the Wizard of Rocks to answer your "rocky" questions.

A big tailgating section outdoors will feature more vendors offering a wide variety of items plus lots of buying, selling and trading of the state gemstone, the Lake Superior Agate.

Cost is $1 for adults and free to youth.
