BEMIDJI - While another missing woman case in Minnesota turned deadly, the Bemidji Police Department is reporting that a missing Redby woman, who is the granddaughter of American Indian Movement co-founder Dennis Banks, was last seen last Wednesday in Bemidji.

Rose Downwind, 31, was last seen by an ex-boyfriend leaving a residence in southeast Bemidji on Oct. 21, according to a release from Bemidji Police Chief Mike Mastin.

The release said Downwind might have gotten into a blue vehicle; however the make and model are unknown. Downwind was last seen wearing a blue sweater and black pants, the release said.

According to Native News Online, Downwind is the granddaughter of Banks and the daughter of Darla Banks. Darla Banks told the news organization that she would normally hear from her daughter almost daily, but has not heard from her in almost 11 days. Banks said her daughter was reportedly going to Saint Paul; however, no one in Saint Paul that she knows has seen her, the article said.

Dennis Banks told the online newspaper that he had recently talked to Duane Lee "Dog" Chapman, who has offered to help locate Downwind. Chapman currently appears in the television series "Dog and Beth: On the Hunt."
