Aircraft lands in Verndale driveway; pilot and passenger OK

VERNDALE--The Cass County Sheriff's Office was called to an aircraft that made an emergency landing at 11:43 a.m. Thursday on the 8500 block of 60th Street Southwest, in Verndale.

VERNDALE-The Cass County Sheriff's Office was called to an aircraft that made an emergency landing at 11:43 a.m. Thursday on the 8500 block of 60th Street Southwest, in Verndale.

The caller stated an airplane landed in a driveway after having engine trouble. The pilot and passenger were not injured. The pilot, Richard J. Slater, 61, and the passenger, Patrick J. Tracy, 59, are both from Maddock, N.D.

The sheriff's office was on scene until 12:51 p.m., when deputies were cleared by the Federal Aviation Administration.

The sheriff's office said the aircraft was a four-seater Cessna aircraft.
