Beginning at 12:12 p.m. Thursday, a fire alarm sounded at an apartment building on the 600 block of College Drive. Firefighters responded and learned the alarm was triggered by unattended cooking.

At both 5:47 p.m. and 6:10 p.m., fire alarms went off at Crossings by GrandStay Inn and Suites, 7208 Fairview Road, Baxter. Both calls were canceled as firefighters were en route.

A gas smell at an apartment on the 600 block of Front Street brought out the department again at 10:36 p.m. Upon investigation, firefighters determined the call was unfounded.

At 9:50 a.m. Friday, a carbon monoxide alarm went off at a residence on the 1700 block of Smith Road. Firefighters also concluded that call to be unfounded.
