The Brainerd Lakes Area Community Foundation recently announced Charles “Chuck” Albrecht has joined the board of directors in a news release.
The board governs the foundation, conducts development activities, approves grant decisions and works to engage people, connect resources and build community. All members are volunteers and serve up to three, three-year terms.
Active in the financial industry for more than 40 years, Albrecht is president/CEO at Mid Minnesota Federal Credit Union. He is a graduate of Central Lakes College, St. Cloud State University and Credit Union Executive Society CEO Institute. Albrecht has a long history of community involvement including currently on the board of the Region 5 Children’s Museum, past chairman of MCBI Christian Radio; past board member Central Region Essentia Health, emeritus board member of Brainerd Lakes Area Economic Development Corp. and multiple leadership roles in the state trade association for 100 credit unions.
“Chuck brings a ton of knowledge and experience around finances and investments, as well as being a champion for community initiatives. We are excited to welcome him to the board to aid us in our community work and continued growth,” said Karl Samp, community foundation executive director, in a news release.
The Brainerd Lakes Area Community Foundation attracts and administers charitable funds for the benefit of the local Brainerd area. Since 1998, the foundation has grown to over $16 million in assets and awarded over $6.6 million in grants to nonprofits. The organization is governed by a local board of directors and is a partner of CommunityGiving, which is a collaborative of many community foundations united under a single framework to create efficiencies that maximize the impact of our donors.
