Ted Anderson was recently named 2018 Sertoman of the Year of the Brainerd Area Sertoma Club.
"A relatively new member of the 'Dog Pound,' this Sertoman is always ready with a warm smile, a gentle tone, and a get it done attitude," read a news release from Sertoma.
Anderson joined Sertoma in 2015. He is a current club board member; has appeared as Santa at numerous locations, including Winter Wonderland; served as co-chair of the Pipe and Drape Committee; with his wife been a Flag Route captain; volunteered at club vision and hearing screenings at local schools; serves on the ditch pick crew; is a multiple regional conventions attendee; and volunteers at the Sertoma Mariucci Fiesta.
Outside of Sertoma, Anderson volunteers with Beginning Experience, an organization dedicated to helping those who are experiencing divorce or death of a spouse; coordinates two Bible study men's groups and has served in a variety of leadership roles in his church; drives weekly for Meals on Wheels; and is a boat captain for Fishing Has No Boundaries.
"The Brainerd Area Sertoma Club believes in serving others. Ted Anderson is a great example of someone who is passionate about serving mankind. He is proud to be a Sertoman. His leadership and contribution are a big reason behind the success of our club. Our club is proud to have a nominee for further consideration of Sertoman of the Year awards. He is a role model for all," said Club President Karen Munsterteiger in a news release.

The club also handed out it's Sertoma Works Awards recognizing. Dwan Eckstrom, Bob Carter, Nikki Lyter, Jamie Rowlette and the entire "Dog Pound" (represented by Art Becker) were given this yearly honor.
