The Old Wadena Society will conduct the annual Old Wadena Rendezvous and Folk Life Festival on Aug. 13-14 at Old Wadena Park, five miles northwest of Staples on the banks of the Crow Wing River. The Old Wadena site was a bustling river crossing settlement for a few years in the 1860s, but gradually disappeared when it was bypassed by the railroad.
