BAXTER-The sixth annual Zonta Club Christmas House event will be 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the home of George and Julie Tetreault on the Mississippi River in Baxter.
The annual open house is an event to provide ideas for the holiday and get those in the Brainerd lakes area inspired for the holiday season. Tetreault's address is 11614 River Vista Drive, Baxter.
Tickets are available in advance for $10 at the UPS Store, Evenson's Hallmark and Lakes Dental Care and Community Education; or $12 at the door.
Local designers and small businesses will decorate a room or area in the home for the Christmas season. Along with the decorations there will food samples, wine samples and local artist's work.
The event is the year's biggest fundraiser for the Zonta Club of Brainerd. Zonta is an international service organization that works toward advancing the status of women and girls. Two-thirds of the money raised at Christmas House will stay in the community for women's scholarships and the benefit of women's causes and groups, including PORT Girls Home and the women's center. The rest will go toward international programs of Zonta.
