WAHKON — Two people were injured when an all-terrain vehicle crashed into a boat trailer pulled by a truck Saturday, Aug. 29, in Wahkon in Mille Lacs County.

The Minnesota State Patrol reported a Polaris RZR was traveling east on Schubert Avenue and a Chevrolet Silverado, hauling a boat on a trailer, was traveling southwest on Highway 27. The driver of the side-by-side ATV failed to yield at the stop sign at the intersection with Highway 27 and collided into the boat.

The driver of the truck, Derek J. Buettner, 24, South Haven, was transported to Mille Lacs Health System in Onamia and the ATV driver, Timothy C. Bendtsen, 34, Ramsey, was transported to St. Cloud Hospital, both for non-life-threatening injuries.

Bendtsen’s passenger Zachary S. Keller, 25, Zimmerman, was not injured.
