ROYALTON — A 62-year-old man was injured Saturday, May 30, after the all-terrain vehicle he was operating was pushed off a trail and rolled over on top of him.
The Morrison County Sheriff’s Office responded to the injury crash just before 1 p.m. involving two ATVs on the Soo Line Trail, 3 miles north of Royalton in Bellevue Township.
According to the sheriff’s office, John Reed, 62, of Royalton, was parked facing east on the Soo Line Trail and Stephen Nixon, 64, of Zimmerman, was traveling east on the Soo Line Trail at a slow speed because of dusty conditions. Nixon’s ATV drove into the back of Reed’s ATV, pushing it over the edge of the trail where it rolled over on top of Reed, the sheriff’s office reported. Reed was transported by Mayo Clinic Ambulance to St. Gabriel’s Hospital with unknown injuries. Nixon was not injured.
The sheriff’s office was assisted at the scene by the Royalton First Response Team.
