PEQUOT LAKES — A 27-year-old Backus man was arrested and booked into the Crow Wing County Jail Sunday, Dec. 15, for three felonies — threats of violence, second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon and first-degree property damage — following a disturbance in Pequot Lakes.

The Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office received a call at 4:12 a.m. of a man who drove a 2000 Chevrolet pickup with a plow into a victim’s vehicle on the 31000 block of Brunes Street in Pequot Lakes. The sheriff’s office reported the man made threats, brandished a handgun and fled on foot. An extensive search was conducted and the suspect was located about 6:30 p.m. Sunday at a business in Pine River and arrested.

Officers from Pequot Lakes, Breezy Point and Nisswa police departments assisted in the sheriff's office in the search.
