The Leech Lake Tribal Police Department is asking for assistance in locating Franklyn Sherman Jr., 35, of Deer River. Sherman was last seen July 23 at a residence on foot in the Winnie Dam area of Deer River. No one has heard from him since and authorities are concerned for his welfare.

Sherman is described as 6 feet, 1 inch tall, weighing 185 pounds, with brown eyes and black shoulder-length hair and a mole on his left forearm. He also has scars on his arm and may be wearing glasses. Sherman also spends time at his mother's in Bemidji. Anyone who thinks they have seen Sherman, or have information regarding his whereabouts, is asked to contact the Leech Lake Police Department at 218-335-8277.
