ALDRICH — The man who was found deceased about 75 feet from his vehicle Monday, June 7, after being involved in a crash near Aldrich has been identified.
The Wadena County Sheriff’s Office identified the man Wednesday as Justin Mayberry, 42, of Detroit Lakes. The sheriff’s office received a 911 call at 10:24 p.m. where the caller indicated a vehicle had rolled near the intersection of Wadena County Highway 26 and 160th Street in Bullard’s Township near Aldrich. The caller stated a man was lying outside the vehicle at the time and was believed to be deceased.
Deputies located a 2002 Nissan Maxima and the man was about 75 feet to the east of the vehicle lying in the field. Resuscitating efforts were attempted, but unsuccessful and Mayberry was pronounced dead at the scene, the sheriff’s office.
Mayberry appeared to be wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash. Investigations concluded he exited the vehicle after the crash and then collapsed in the location he had been found from the vehicle, the sheriff’s office reported.
