Police and animal control officers are investigating the shooting of a dog whose body was found Wednesday by the Mississippi River.
Lakes Area Animal Control and Enforcement reported on Facebook Thursday, May 3, a dog located on the Evergreen Boat launch in Brainerd was deceased from an apparent gunshot wound to the head and left in a plastic bag.
The dog appeared to be a black Labrador and German shepard mix, or a Rottweiler mix.
