MENAHGA — The Wadena County Sheriff’s Office was called at 8:40 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, to a cabin fire northeast of Menahga.

Deputies arrived on scene in Section 6 of Shell River Township and were told the fire was out but embers were still falling from the ceiling. The Menahga Fire Department arrived, checked the stovepipe and found the embers to be clear of debris. The cause of the fire appeared to be wood chips against the stovepipe.

No structural damage was found. One person in the cabin was treated for respiratory concerns.

The sheriff’s office was assisted by the Sebeka Fire Department and Tri-County Ambulance.
