A bee sits on a blooming aster flower as the sun sets behind it Wednesday, Sept. 26, at Central Lakes College in Brainerd. Bees are moving slowly as the fall season sets in with cool temperatures. Autumn is an important time for bees to gather nectar to keep the colonies going through the winter. Late-blooming flowers that feed the bees include asters, chrysanthemums, goldenrod and Russian sage. Kelly Humphrey / Brainerd Dispatch
