The 69-year-old Backus woman, who was seriously injured July 11 in a two-vehicle crash with a semitrailer on Highway 371 near Koering Road in Fort Ripley Township, died as a result of complications from multiple blunt force injuries suffered in the crash.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner confirmed the death of Colleen Marie Epeneter, who died Saturday at North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale.

Epeneter was a passenger in a Toyota Corolla heading west on Koering Road, near the Brainerd Lakes Area Welcome Center approaching the southbound lane of Highway 371, the Minnesota State Patrol reported. The Toyota entered the southbound lane and was struck by a 2002 Western Star CNV, a semitrailer.
