A basketball was the culprit in setting off a fire alarm at Central Lakes College, Brainerd campus.
The Brainerd Fire Department was called at 7:55 p.m. Tuesday to the college. It was reported that a sprinkler head broke when a basketball hit it, setting off the alarm.
Firefighters also responded to a call at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday to Edgewood Vista Senior Living, 14890 Beaver Dam Road, Brainerd. Firefighters investigated and learned that construction dust set off the fire alarm.
