The Baxter City Council will interview both alternates in its search for a new city administrator after a second finalist dropped out of consideration.
Lisa Sova, clerk-treasurer for the city of Crosby, was added to the list of five finalists slated for interviews in March. Sova has been with the city since 2012. Before joining the city of Crosby, she was a benefit specialist with Cuyuna Regional Medical Center for two years and a financial analyst with Weyerhaeuser from 1993 to 2008.
Sova has a bachelor's degree in accounting from St. Cloud State University and a masters of business administration from Metropolitan State University.
One of the previous finalists, Carroll Vizecky, accepted a different position. Vizecky most recently was city administrator in Freeman, S.D.
The other finalists for the Baxter post are Bradley D. Chapulis, Nathan A. Ehalt, Kevin Opple and Darcy D. Long. The city received 39 applications and the council received information on the top 12 candidates before choosing their top candidates. The council initially picked five finalists and two alternates. Earlier this week, the council debated and deadlocked on whether to add both alternates to the interview list before settling on a compromise to add in the second alternate if another finalist dropped out. Candidate interviews are planned March 17-18.
