BAXTER-The Baxter City Council approved the Brainerd School District request to place wood piles from the tree cutting of the school forest in city right-of-way on Mountain Ash Drive. Conditions for the wood piles in the right of way included that all disturbed areas needed to be leveled, seeded and mulched when the project was done or before Oct. 1. The wood piles also need to be at least 50-feet from fire hydrants.
In other business, the council:
Denied the 10800 Red River Drive private sign request reporting the request didn't meet city sign and retro-reflectivity policy for private streets.
Approved the Anderson Brothers partial payment of $39,816.67 for the 2016 Fairview Road Improvements Project.
Received the feasibility report on improvements for the 2017 Alano sanitary sewer and water improvements project. Alano is on the south side of Highway 210 near the Golf Course Drive intersection.

Received the feasibility report on improvements for the Arbor Glen trail connection improvements project. The project is designed to provide a more user friendly connection for the population living in the residential complex to access the Paul Bunyan State Trail.
Received the 2020 Fairview Road and trail connection improvements project feasibility report, which is expected to cost $719,341. The project area is west of Cypress Drive to Golf Course Drive and includes trail improvements on the north side of Highway 210.
Approved a speed study on a portion of Isle Drive between Highway 48 and Essentia Health Clinic.
Approved the Widseth Smith Nolting agreement for professional services for the 2018 Baxter Drive improvements feasibility report not to exceed amount of $5,715.
Approved the WSN agreement for construction staking and observation services for the 2017 county state aid railway crossing improvements project. The cost is estimated to be $12,500.
Awarded the 2017 lift station No. 10 reconstruction project to Anderson Brothers Construction in for $105,374.
Accepted a $500 donation from the Baxter Lions for the 2017 Lakes Area Triathlon.
Accepted a donation from the Baxter Baseball Association in the amount of $600 for material donation to redo the baseball mounds at Oscar Kristofferson Park.
