Baxter crash injures passenger

BAXTER--A 23-year-old Pine River woman was injured in a two-vehicle crash at 11:10 a.m. Monday at the intersection of highways 371 and 210 in Baxter.

BAXTER-A 23-year-old Pine River woman was injured in a two-vehicle crash at 11:10 a.m. Monday at the intersection of highways 371 and 210 in Baxter.

The Baxter Police Department reported Jonathan Michael Nieman, 33, Pine River, was driving a Plymouth Voyager and Heidi Joyce Schmitz, 28, Brainerd, was driving a Lincoln when the two vehicles collided in the intersection.

Nieman and Schmitz were not injured. Nieman's passenger, Karen Juanita Nieman, 23, Pine River, was injured and transported to Essentia Health-St. Joseph's Medical Center in Brainerd. Police stated Jonathan Nieman was cited for failing to yield in the intersection.

The Brainerd Fire Department was paged, but were canceled en route.

Baxter police also responded to a personal injury crash at 12:11 p.m. Monday on Golf Course Drive and Clearwater Road. One of the drivers had a possible injury, but wasn't transported by ambulance.
