Baxter man shoots his hand while cleaning gun

BAXTER — A 43-year-old Baxter man was hospitalized Sunday, April 19, after he accidentally shot himself in the hand with a handgun.

The Baxter Police Department was called at 10:25 a.m. to a report of a man who shot himself in the hand while cleaning his gun at his home on the 4800 block of Cedar Scenic Road in Baxter. The man was transported to the emergency room at Essentia Health-Medical Center, Brainerd, where he was treated and released.

No one else was injured in the incident, police reported.
