A benefit for Wade Zelinske is planned for 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Sunday at The Blue Room at Yesterday's Gone, 219 South Ninth St., Brainerd.

Zelinske was diagnosed with glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer, in February. Since then, he has had brain surgery to remove a portion of the tumor and has begun intensive radiation and chemotherapy treatments.

Zelinske is 44 and the sole financial provider for his family. He is the father of five and grandfather of three. His condition and the required treatments have forced him to leave work, leaving the family with significant financial burdens to overcome.

There will be a spaghetti dinner, pick-a-prize raffle, bake sale and more. Cost is $10 per person ages 12 and up; $5 for kids under 12. Tickets will be available at the door.
