BI-CAP Energy Assistance Program still has funding available

BI-CAP is a nonprofit community action program that assists low income disadvantaged families and individuals in Cass and Beltrami Counties.

The BI-CAP Energy Assistance Program has funding available for households in Beltrami or Cass counties for help with heating and electric bills, according to a news release.

Those who have not applied yet this heating season and meet the income guidelines may be eligible. Both renters and homeowners are encouraged to apply by May 31.

For those who have already received energy assistance and are still struggling with heating/electric bills, crisis guidelines have changed this year due to the extra financial burden many households have faced.

2021 three-month income guidelines for a household size of one is $7,066 gross income; for a household size of two, $9,240; household size of three, $11,415; household size of four, $13,589; household size of five, $15,763; and household size of of six, $17,937.
