The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, in partnership with the Sandy Lake Association, will host an informational meeting following the association’s monthly meeting at 10:30 a.m. Nov. 2 at the Big Sandy Lodge and Resort, 20534 487th St., McGregor.

The one-hour meeting is designed to provide information about repairs that are necessary to keep the dam operating in a safe manner. Corps staff will also provide an anticipated schedule for the repairs and discuss any effects the project will have on the lake, recreators and property owners. A question and answer period will follow the presentation.

“Think of it as doing maintenance on your house,” said Bob Edstrom, St. Paul District project manager, in a news release. “These repairs are necessary to keep the 100-plus year old dam operating safely for decades to come.”
