SHELLY - The body of a missing hunter found Saturday has been identified as 25-year-old Blake Larson of Nielsville, Minn.
According to the Norman County Sheriff’s Department, Larson’s death is believed to be the result of a hunting accident. Crews responded to a missing person report at about 7:45 p.m. Saturday.
After a brief search Larson’s body was found with a gunshot wound to the chest near his last known hunting location. Larson had been hunting deer and had not returned Saturday evening. Family members had tried to reach him by phone but were unsuccessful.
Authorities transported the body to the Grand Forks medical examiner's office for an autopsy.
Norman County Sheriff's Office is currently investigating the incident.
