SCHROEDER, Minn. -- Search parties on Monday recovered the body of an 18-year-old man who drowned over the weekend at Temperance River State Park, the Cook County Sheriff’s Office reported.
The body of Alec Paul Bertil Lawrenz of Wayzata was recovered from the Temperance River early Monday afternoon, authorities said. Lawrenz disappeared while swimming late Saturday.
The investigation will continue but no foul play is suspected in the death, the sheriff’s office said.
Temperance River State Park, near Schroeder, is a popular stop on the North Shore where the river descends through a series of gorges and rapids to Lake Superior. It has been the site of at least seven other fatal accidents since the mid-1990.
