The League of Women Voters of the Brainerd Lakes Area is hosting an event Thursday, Dec. 13, on the Brainerd Lakes Regional Airport.
Airport Director Steven Wright will present an overview of the airport and the benefits it provides to the community. Lunch and social will be at 11:30 a.m., with program at noon at the airport.
The Brainerd Lakes Regional Airport has served the community and lakes area with commercial flights since the late 1940s. Along with daily flights to the Minneapolis-St. Paul International airport, the airport is home to Brainerd Helicopter Service, North Memorial Air Care and the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources Brainerd Air Tanker Base.
The League of Women Voters of the Brainerd Lakes Area is a nonpartisan political organization with a 90-year history of educating Minnesota voters. It encourages informed and active participation in government and influences public policy through education and advocacy.
