"By investing in the Brainerd Lakes Airport, we're spurring economic development in the region and bolstering our transportation network," said Sen. Franken. "These critical upgrades will improve airport safety, help create jobs, and go a long way towards making sure that Minnesota's aviation infrastructure system is world class."

"Regional airports, like Brainerd Lakes Regional Airport, play a crucial role in our rural economy," Nolan said."Maintaining this airport's infrastructure will allow for more efficient air service in the region - also promoting safety and supporting good, middle-class jobs from construction to business and tourism."
