Six former Brainerd Warrior dance team members-five as dancers and one as a coach-competed at the UDA College Dance Team National Championship Jan. 18-20 in Orlando, Fla.
Brainerd alumnae Mackenzie Davidge, Avery Davidge and Kalie Jeremiason competed with the University of St. Thomas dance team in the open division. The team had a double win at the National Championships in pom and hip-hop.
Mackenzie Davidge is a 2015 Brainerd graduate and is a senior at St. Thomas. She is a second-year captain for the team. Avery Davidge is a 2017 Brainerd grad and a sophomore at St. Thomas. She is a second-year team member. Jeremiason is a 2018 graduate competing at nationals for the first time as a freshman.
MaKayla Clough, 2017 grad and former member and captain of the Warriors, took third place in open jazz and won the open pom as a member of the Minnesota State University Mankato team. She is a two-year member and first-year captain with the Mavericks.
Marcy Stout, a 2018 BHS graduate, placed eighth as a first-year member of the St. Cloud State University dance team.

Brainerd alumni Alli (Spieker) Mackner, head coach for the University of Minnesota, Duluth team, placed fifth in the open jazz division. Mackner is a former member and captain of the UMD dance team and this is her first year as head coach. She is a 2012 Brainerd grad and former captain of the Warrior dance team.
