The Brainerd Lakes Chamber of Commerce is warning business owners of a scam involving impersonation of the U.S. Small Business Administration.

Companies are receiving email and text messages with “sba.help” in the subject line or body of the text. In a news release Wednesday, April 1, the chamber stated this is a scam, and the SBA is investigating.

“Be especially wary of any offer of assistance, special promotions, etc.,” the release stated. “These criminals have no conscience. Verify all offers by contacting a reputable organization, and never share your personal or financial information.”
