Brainerd crash injures woman

A 53-year-old Pequot Lakes woman was injured in a two-vehicle crash at 10:52 a.m. Monday, Oct. 5, at the intersection of Northwest Seventh and James streets in Brainerd.

The Brainerd Police Department reported Myrtle Tuil, 85, of Brainerd, was traveling north on Northwest Seventh Street and Lynda Bach, 53, of Pequot Lakes, was traveling west on James Street near the Westgate Mall in Brainerd. Tuil continued north on Northwest Seventh Street when Bach failed to stop at the stop sign and proceeded into the intersection and struck Tuil’s vehicle, the police department reported.

Bach was injured and transported by North Memorial Health Ambulance to Essentia Health-St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Brainerd. Tuil was not injured.

The Brainerd Fire Department and Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene.
