Brainerd Fire Department responds to numerous calls

Calls regarding carbon monoxide and water flow issues and small fires send out fire trucks to multiple locations.

The Brainerd Fire Department is at the intersection of East River Road and Laurel Street in Brainerd.

The Brainerd Fire Department to a variety of calls from Friday, Feb. 12, through Wednesday.

Calls Friday included:

  • Called at 1:21 p.m. to a carbon monoxide alarm on the 700 block of Southwest Fifth Street. Upon investigation, it was determined to be unfounded.

  • Called at 6:20 p.m. to a structure fire on the 1200 block of Maple Street, but were canceled en route.

  • Called at 11 p.m. to a carbon monoxide alarm on the 14000 block of Grand Oaks Drive, which was determined to be a maintenance matter. Firefighters provided standby assistance for the utility company.

  • Called at 11:08 p.m. to a structure fire on the 16000 block of Jack Lake Road. Upon arrival, fire crews extinguished a small fire and performed overhaul, where firefighters checked the area for any possible hot spots to make sure the fire was completely out.

Calls Saturday:

  • Called at 12:18 a.m. to a carbon monoxide alarm on the 12000 block of Camwood Trail. Firefighters provided standby assistance for the utility company.

  • Called at 6:19 p.m. to a report of smoke in the area of the 7000 block of Woida Road in Baxter. Firefighters were canceled en route.

  • Called at 6:38 p.m. and again at 10:10 p.m. to Central Lakes College, 501 West College Drive, for water flow alarms. The first call firefighters provided scene assistance for a maintenance matter. They were canceled en route for the second call.

Calls Sunday:

  • Called at 2:30 p.m. to a carbon monoxide alarm on the 14000 block of Memorywood Drive, Baxter. for a carbon monoxide alarm. Firefighters provided standby assistance for the utility company.

Calls Monday:

  • Called at 2:42 p.m. to a fire alarm at Harmony House, 218 SW Ninth St., but were canceled en route.

Calls Wednesday:

  • Called at 1:33 a.m. to a water flow alarm at Dunham Sports, 14136 Baxter Drive. Upon arrival, assisted staff with a sprinkler system issue.

  • Called at 8:15 a.m. to a carbon monoxide alarm on the 400 block of Northeast Fourth Avenue. Firefighters investigated and it was determined to be unfounded.
