The Brainerd Fire Department responded to several calls over the weekend.

On Friday, firefighters responded to two calls at 5:36 p.m. The first call was a vehicle crash on Highway 371 at Green Gables Road in the Unorganized Territory. When crews arrived on scene extrication was not needed. The fire department assisted with traffic control and scene cleanup. The second call was a vehicle on fire on the 21300 block of Highway 18. Fire department arrived and determined the vehicle was not on fire, it was burned oil on the engine.

There were four calls Saturday night. Firefighters assisted North Memorial Ambulance at 7:49 p.m. on the 14000 block of Firewood Drive in Baxter. At 8:13 p.m. there was an alarm on the 200 block of Southwest Ninth Street in Brainerd. The alarm was determined to be a false alarm.

At 8:14 p.m., firefighters responded to a report of a lot of black smoke in the area of Meadow Brook Lane. Law enforcement arrived on scene and determined it was a controlled burn. At 9:03 p.m., firefighters assisted North Memorial Ambulance on the 1100 block of Quince Street for a person who fell down stairs.

There were no calls Sunday. At 10:56 a.m. Monday, firefighters responded to a fire alarm on the 500 block of D Street. Firefighters investigated and determined it was a false alarm, as the cleaning chemicals set off the alarm.
