The Brainerd Fire Department responded to several calls over the long holiday weekend from maintenance matters to reports of smoke in buildings.
Thursday, Dec. 31:
Called at 4:20 p.m. to Giant Wash, 1224 Oak St., to a report of smoke in the building. It was determined to be a maintenance matter and firefighters ventilated the building.
Friday:
No calls.
Saturday:
Called at 10:46 a.m. to Good Samaritan Society-Bethany, 804 Wright St., to a fire alarm. It was determined to be a maintenance matter.
Called at 12:23 p.m. to a report of smoke on the 14000 block of Grand Oaks Drive for a report of smoke coming from a vehicle. Upon investigation, it was determined there was no fire.
Called at 4:48 p.m. to Bethany Senior Apartments, 1953 S. Seventh St., for a fire alarm that was determined to be a maintenance matter.

Monday:
Called at 8:48 a.m. to Mid-Minnesota Women’s Center, 1414 Maple St., for a fire alarm. Upon investigation, it was determined to be caused by burned food.
