BAXTER - The 16th Annual Susan G. Komen Brainerd Lakes Race for the Cure will be held June 27 at the Forestview Middle School in Baxter.
Events include a one mile walk, 5K walk and 5K run. There are also races for 2-10 year olds at age appropriate distances followed by refreshments for all. This year's honorary race chair is Nancy Cross, who was one of the founders of the race and has supported it since it became official in 2000. The honorary survivor chair is Roz Haapajoki of Baxter, whose story of dealing with breast cancer and recurrence is an inspiration to others affected by this disease.
