Brainerd library hosts Zoom gardening myths webinar

“Fact or Fiction: Garden Myths Meet Research-Based Science” will be presented by Master Gardener Jackie Burkey at noon Nov. 10 via Zoom.

“Are Grandma, Pinterest, and magazine articles leading you astray? This recently updated, lively presentation will examine common gardening practices to see if science supports the claims,” a news release stated.

Free master gardener classes through the University of Minnesota Extension Crow Wing County master gardeners will take place through December. Monthly presentations facilitated by certified U of M Extension Crow Wing County master gardeners will discuss subjects ranging from garden tools to gourds.

Master gardeners are University of Minnesota-trained volunteers whose job is to educate the public about a variety of horticulture subjects. The master gardener program educational effort is designed to enhance the public’s quality of life and to promote good stewardship of the environment.
