The Brainerd Public Library is looking for historical photos from the Brainerd lakes area.
The goal is to collect images that may have not been seen before that would lead to insights to the history of Brainerd lakes area. Examples of items the library would like to scan are: recent and old historical photographs and documents, important buildings, prominent community members, city scenes, the 371 corridor change, local postcards, slides, negatives and more. Area residents can bring in their historically significant photos to the library for scanning so the photos can be preserved.
Individuals may schedule a time to work with a local historian on the following dates: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 3, 4, 11, 18 and 27; 3-6 p.m. May 12 and 26; and 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 21.

This free Legacy Program is funded in part or in whole with money from the vote of the people of Minnesota on Nov. 4, 2008, which dedicated funding to preserve Minnesota's art and cultural heritage.
