Brainerd library offers class on ‘Biblically Inspired Garden’

Want to create a garden for prayer, meditation or as memorial to a loved one or a beloved pet? A garden can provide a peaceful place for contemplation and reflection and master gardeners will talk about possible plants and elements to include in this online class via Zoom.

“The Biblically Inspired Garden” will be presented by Master Gardener Jennifer Knutson at noon Dec. 8 via Zoom.

In this class, Knutson will discuss creating an area in a garden for prayer, mediation, or as a memorial to a loved one or beloved pet as a way to provide a peaceful place for contemplation and reflection. Elements of a prayer or meditation garden will be presented for a biblically inspired garden, including plants with heavenly names.

Free master gardener classes through the University of Minnesota Extension Crow Wing County master gardeners will take place through December. Monthly presentations facilitated by certified UMN Extension Crow Wing County master gardeners will discuss subjects ranging from garden tools to gourds.

Master gardeners are University of Minnesota-trained volunteers whose job is to educate the public about a variety of horticulture subjects.
