Brainerd man faces criminal charges for breaking into art center

A 27-year-old Brainerd man is facing criminal charges after he allegedly broke into The Crossing Arts Alliance in downtown Brainerd.

Michael Sabra Glass was charged Tuesday, Oct. 13, in Crow Wing County District Court in Brainerd with felony third-degree burglary with the intent to steal and petty misdemeanor possession of a small amount of marijuana.

According to the probable cause court document filed against Glass, Brainerd police responded to the art center at 4:09 p.m. Sunday after the director of The Crossing Arts Alliance reported opening the business office and finding a man inside. It appeared force was used to enter the building, which had been locked and closed to the public. Officers observed tool markings on the door that appeared fresh. The director stated several food items were stolen and consumed by Glass while in the office area.

During a search officers located .43 grams of marijuana in Glass's backpack.

Glass’ next court appearance is scheduled Jan. 27, 2021.
