A 23-year-old Brainerd man-who was found face down on a Brainerd street after a snowmobile crash Sunday night-was in fair condition Tuesday at North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale.
The Brainerd Police Department responded to a report of a snowmobile crash about 10:30 p.m. Sunday, when a snowmobile collided with a parked car on the 900 block of H Street in northeast Brainerd.
Police reported initial indications showed the snowmobile was eastbound on H Street when it struck a parked, unattended vehicle on the north side of the street. Both the car and snowmobile had extensive damage.
The snowmobile operator, Zachary James Seery, was found laying in the middle of the street face down, with limited responsiveness, police reported. Seery was transported from the scene by North Memorial Ambulance and later transferred to the Robbinsdale hospital with serious injuries.
Seery was driving a 1993 red Ski Doo Formula STX 583. It is believed Seery was wearing a helmet. A helmet was located at the scene of the crash, but not on Seery when officers found him. Excessive speed and alcohol appeared to be involved in the crash, police reported.
